The ice-beams zapped Superman right on the âSâ on his chest.
Superman was surrounded by a thick, super-cold wall of ice. He plummeted toward the earth like a giant blue rock.
âYay! Me stop fake Superman!â Bizarro said. âNow me help people!â
Bizarro snatched up Lois and flew down to the city toward a construction project. A giant wrecking ball was about to slam into an abandoned building.
âMen going to break building!â Bizarro said. âMe stop ball and save building from men!â
âStop!â Lois shouted. âTheyâre just doing their jobs!â
It was too late. Bizarro flew toward the old building. As he floated past the construction site, he held up his hand to stop the wrecking ball.
Meanwhile, Superman hit the ground. The ice that surrounded him shattered. Then he flew toward Lois. Before the ball hit Bizarro, Superman plucked Lois from his arms.
The wrecking ball smashed into Bizarro, slamming him into the old building.
âItâs Superman!â a construction worker yelled. âAnd heâs fighting . . . Superman?!â
The wall began to crumble. The whole building collapsed on top of Bizarro, burying him in bricks and dust.
Lois was worried. âBizarro isnât hurt, is he?â she asked.
âHis name is Bizarro?â Superman asked. He saw with his X-ray vision that Bizarro was digging his way out of the bricks.
âHeâs fine,â Superman said. âHeâs invulnerable, like I am. He seems to have all of my powers too â a bizarre version of them, anyway.â
âBizarro may look like a monster, but heâs not evil,â Lois said. She explained that Dr. Teng had helped Lex Luthor make a Superman clone.
Suddenly, Bizarro burst from the bricks. âLois! Where is you?â he yelled.
Then he saw Lois in Supermanâs arms. âNo!â he shouted at Superman. âPut Lois down, you fake! Me save you again, Lois!â
Bizarro zoomed toward them, but Superman zipped out of Bizarroâs way. Bizarro flew right past them.
âThis isnât Bizarroâs fault,â Lois told Superman. âHe didnât ask to be made.â
âHeâs just trying to be helpful,â Lois continued. âHe thinks like a very small child. Please donât hurt him, Superman.â
Superman could see that Lois was right. He didnât want to hurt Bizarro, but he couldnât let Bizarro hurt anyone else.
âHeâs too reckless. I have to stop him,â he said. âBut donât worry, Lois. Iâll find a way to do it without hurting him.â
Loisâs face lit up. âI have an idea!â she said. âYou have to let Bizarro defeat you.â
âWhat do you mean?â Superman asked.
Lois whispered in Supermanâs ear.
âThatâs a great plan!â Superman said. âAnd I know just how we can do it.â
